ROAD SAFETY COLLEGE PROJECT IN AFRICA: a new concept to improving road safety 1 OBJECTIVE 1.1 Road Safety College is an institute created to provide basic and advance training in the area of road traffic safety and all that it encumbers. The Idea to create this institute centers on an explicit goal, and develops into a highly pragmatic and scientifically-based strategy which challenges the traditional approach to road safety. Our area of expertise ranges from providing professional training to those interested to become road traffic monitors, various vehicle instructors, and road traffic safety professionals. 1.2 REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF ROAD ACCIDENTS: Help reduce the amount of road related accidents and empower developing nations, providing them with the latest available educational tools in the market that would enhance their ability to deal with increasing recklessness that causes massive death in their countries and reduce road side corruption and human right abuse. 1.3 SAFETY MANAGEMENT OF ROADS: Promote the kind of road infrastructure and design that are a contributing factor in one out of three fatal accidents. In order to increase safety of road infrastructures, developing nations should introduce a comprehensive system of road infrastructure safety management focusing on the following procedures: 1.4 STANDARDIZING ROAD TRAFFIC SAFETY POLICIES: Help developing countries design road traffic safety policies and help them adopt, realize and implement recommendations, guidelines and Policies in accordance with international standards. Before the project goes on seeking for ways to meet its objectives, we shall try to identify problems faced by developing countries into details. 1.5 A GLOBAL STANDARDIZES APPROACH: One other aim of this project is to provide a framework for discussion on how we can better harmonise the introduction of a global and standardize approach to problem solving with regards to driving instruction and road traffic safety application acceptable to all. 1.6 A GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL SCHEME: To help reduce green house effect through a global network scheme aimed at sharing information. This will help reduce the impact and environmental mismanagement and safety performance of the road transport system. By so doing we can promote a better understanding among nations towards permanent development. Advantages The aim of this project is to introduce Road traffic safety and Driving Instructors training program as a tool within the global concept of development Aid. This allows new ways of approaching development Aid from a different angle. The ability to share and impart know-how and expertises globally and at the same time saves lives most efficiently. One difference this time around is that the developed countries can now use road traffic safety and driving instruction training as a prerequisite and as a forum to promote the establishment of basic road infrastructures and practical legislations in developing countries. The developed countries can also use this medium to encourage and boost legislations that would promote open market capitalism and promote democratic institutions in developing countries. I have a strong conviction that this project would create a new approach to bottom-up project realisation and bring about change at a rate not seen before globally. It would enhance performance in the ability of developed countries providing aid to developing countries. It would also provide grounds for negotiation of future projects and allow developing countries the opportunities to grow at the same pace. At least when it comes to traffic safety, we would set grounds to meet the United Nations set objectives which is to reduce the number of road fatalities by one third.
